The Division of Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS), Department of Allied Health Sciences in the School of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a 12-month Open Rank/Open Track Faculty position beginning 1 July 2010.
Career track and rank will be dependent upon credentials and experience. Responsibilities include teaching clinical microbiology and molecular microbiology in the baccalaureate CLS and Master's in Molecular Diagnostic Science (MMDS) programs and directing clinical rotations. Other responsibilities include participating in curriculum development, student recruitment, student admissions, and contributing to the service mission of the Division of CLS. The successful applicant must demonstrate the ability to establish a research agenda and obtain external funding, and establish collaborative relationships with colleagues in clinical and other settings. Educational Requirements: Ph.D required. Qualification and Experience Requirements: Applicants with certification as a generalist, specialist, or director in the clinical laboratory profession will be considered. Experience in clinical microbiology is required.
