The Department of Clinical Laboratories at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) in New York City is actively seeking candidates for the position of Microbiology Service Chief. Responsibilities of the Service Chief include administrative, operational and clinical laboratory leadership. The Microbiology Service consists of the following laboratories; Bacteriology, Molecular Diagnostics, Mycobacteriology, Mycology, Parasitology, Serology and Virology. The candidate should be board certified in microbiology and/or have sufficient documented experience to qualify for a NewYork State laboratory director's license in microbiology. There are clinical and translational research opportunities with the Infectious Diseases, Pulmonary Medicine, and Bone Marrow Transplantation Services and the Hospital Infection Control Program. In addition, there are numerous educational activities available including Intercity Infectious Disease Rounds, Advanced Topics in Infectious Diseases Lectures, Department of Clinical Laboratories and Department of Medicine Grand Rounds, plus close working relationships with New York City and State laboratories, New York Presbyterian Hospital, and Rockefeller University.
