The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology/University of Minnesota seeks a faculty member to pursue and further develop clinical molecular microbiology and clinical virology at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview, Minneapolis, MN.
Academic rank and appointment type will be based on qualifications and experience. Minimum requirements are an M.D. or Ph.D. Clinical pathology residency training or clinical microbiology post doctoral training is required. Applicants should be board certified by the American Board of Pathology in Clinical Pathology (preferably with subspecialty qualification in Medical Microbiology) or by the American Board of Medical Microbiology. Physician applicants must be eligible for medical licensure in Minnesota. The Clinical Microbiology and Virology Sections provide all diagnostic testing for the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview, the main teaching hospital at the University of Minnesota, and the majority of specialized testing for Fairview Health System's six other hospitals and over thirty clinics in central and northern Minnesota. The faculty member will teach residents, fellows, medical students, and graduate students and is encouraged to pursue research and other scholarly activities. The job is principally to provide clinical diagnostic services with the majority of time dedicated to this. Application deadline is open until position is filled.
