The Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Emory University School of Medicine, invites applications for a 12-month, tenuretrack position at the Assistant Professor level. Exceptional applicants at other levels may also be considered. In this search, preference will be given to candidates with research expertise in bacterial pathogenesis and interactions of bacteria with the human or animal model host. We offer a highly interactive collegial research environment with a strong modern infrastructure, as well as proximity to and collaborations with the Centers for Disease Control and the Yerkes Primate Center. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree with at least two years of postdoctoral training. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain a vigorous extramurally funded research program, and to participate in our strong graduate training programs. The primary criteria for selection will be excellence and creativity in research and scholarship.
