On 14 June, Vickie Baselski, chair of the PSAB Committee on Professional Affairs, represented ASM at the Coordinating Committee for the Clinical Laboratory Workforce (CCCLW) meeting.
There were presentations and discussions on proactively preserving educational programs and the American Society for Clinical Pathology's Ambassador Program. In addition, Coalition members discussed the "Labs Are Vital" advocacy program, created to develop grass roots advocates capable of speaking to various groups publicly about laboratories. Baselski participated in the "Improving Professional Profile" working group, which discussed efforts to promote the laboratorian's role on the health care team as well as efforts to develop advocacy and leadership skills.
